Who we are
DG Unlimited is a bright, bold membership organisation which promotes and supports the phenomenal creativity of this fabulous region of south west Scotland.
We are an independent charity with hundreds of members and supporters across the region, from every area of arts and cultural activity and interest.
There are visual artists, performers, craft makers, musicians, writers, poets, managers, businesses, galleries, suppliers, cultural groups and many more – including those who simply love the arts.
We started life being called The Dumfries and Galloway Chamber of the Arts, but this really didn’t sum up who we are so became DG Unlimited for day-to-day purposes. However, for business purposes we remain registered under the Chamber name as Scottish Charity SC044658.
DGU operates with a Board of Trustees together with an Arts Development Director, two Development Officers (East and West) and an Administration and Communications Co-ordinator.
What we do
We champion of the arts and creativity in Dumfries and Galloway at a regional, national and international level.
DGU also helps members with advice, support and other opportunities.
This is done through promoting and showcasing our members, and the work of the wider sector, to potential visitors, supporters, customers and partners.
We also work closely with key organisations such as Creative Scotland and Dumfries and Galloway Council on issues like strategy and funding.
Come and join us
By becoming a member of DG Unlimited you can get involved with our four arts hubs which run in Annandale & Eskdale, Nithsdale, The Stewartry and Wigtownshire.
These are a great way to network and let you access the expertise of our team of Area Arts Convenors.
DG Unlimited is also a major force in shaping the arts in our region and is committed to achieving a wide range of benefits for its members, and the community as a whole.
DG Unlimited takes a radically new approach to developing the arts and creativity.
It’s the only organisation of its kind in Scotland.
We have created a manifesto which describes what we want to achieve – you can download it here.
