Fully Funded MA in Arts Management – Queen Margaret University
Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh is offering 10 fully funded places for a September 2017 intake to the MA Arts Festival and Cultural Management Degree.
Thanks to support from the Scottish Funding Council, QMU is pleased to be able to offer 10 places with 100% of the course fee waived, for a September 2017 intake to its popular and long-running MA Arts Festival and Cultural Management degree. These places are intended to support capacity building in Scotland’s cultural sector and as such are intended to help deliver the future leaders of Scotland’s cultural organisations and festivals. These spaces are ideal for those currently working in the sector who are looking to advance their career and personal development. As such, applicants for the funded places should be working within the cultural sector in Scotland, and be able to provide a letter from their employer supporting their intention to study. Final selection for these places may be based on interview and/or presentation. The 10 spaces are for both full (1 year) and part-time (2 year) study. Attendance is required to undertake the program.
Culture and creativity are one of QMU’s academic flagships and we have been offering postgraduate courses in arts management for over 17 years. This course, the only one of its kind in Scotland, has been developed in response to these changes and is rooted in a belief that great leaders in the cultural sector will recognise the value of effective management while acknowledging that approaches may need to be adapted to meet the particularities of cultural organisations and festivals. Through encouraging students to become critically reflective arts management professionals, the course will develop their knowledge of the contemporary issues affecting the management of arts organisations and festivals while equipping them with the practical management skills that are essential for both developing their career in the sector and the sustainability of the organisations they work for.
