Please note that the deadline for application to these funds has now passed. Thank you to everyone that took the time to apply; we will be in touch soon.
Do you have a great idea for an arts event in your local community? Are you a creative practitioner looking for support in your professional practice?
Check out the GET INVOLVED GET INSPIRED (community arts projects) and INNOVATE CREATE CULTIVATE funds (professional practice)
Get Involved Get Inspired is a simple way for organisations to access small but important amounts of money to use for arts and creative activities for the benefit of people in their local communities.
The purpose of the Get Involved Get Inspired Fund is to support events and activities that offer greater opportunities for participation in high quality arts experiences for people who would not normally get involved, particularly the most vulnerable in our communities.
DG Unlimited would like as many different kinds of cultural and community organisations to involve as many people as possible in all types of creative activities such as painting, dance, theatre, photography, film, creative writing, storytelling, participatory arts workshops, performances, live arts events, exhibitions, artist discussions and much more.
Activities can be one-off events or a series of workshops and they can take place in any setting from care homes to arts centres or high streets to farmers’ fields as long participants Get Involved and Get Inspired!
There is a total of £8,000 available in 2016/17 that will be equally distributed across the region’s four areas:
- Annandale and Eskdale – £2,000
- Nithsdale – £2,000
- Stewartry – £2,000
- Wigtown – £2,000
If we are unable to award the full allocation of funding to an area then we may fund projects from one of the other areas that successfully meet the criteria. Awards of up to a maximum of £500 will be made. You can apply for up to 90% of the total cost of the project but we request that you only apply for the amount of money you need.
Innovate Create Cultivate is Dumfries & Galloway’s fund for established and emerging artists and creative practitioners.
The purpose of the Innovate Create Cultivate Fund is to support established and emerging artists and creative practitioners living and working in Dumfries and Galloway to explore, develop and further their artistic practice.
It aims to support bold new ideas, create space for discovery and allow steps into new directions for public and economic benefit of the region.
The fund intends to support projects that enable artists to:
- research and develop their practice;
- test new ideas or creative direction;
- create new work(s) of high quality;
- enhance and/or learn new skills;
- inspire audiences and communities;
- contribute to the region’s economy.
There is a total of £7,000 available for 2016/17 and individual awards of up to a maximum of £750 will be made. You can apply for up to 90% of the total cost of the project but we advise that you only request the amount that appropriately meets the purpose and criteria of this fund. The awards panel may offer a different amount to that requested.
