Voices Unlimited
Voices Unlimited is a podcast series which was developed at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic in response to requests from DGU members to help the region’s creative community remain connected and engaged with creative practice and their peers during the extraordinary and unprecedented experience of lockdown. An open call seeking ideas resulted in 7 original podcasts through paid commissions.

Spirit and Inspiration
Spirit and Inspiration is a collection of stories and anecdotes that encapsulates a year of inspiration and strength in the region’s creative community during the Covid-19 pandemic of 2020. This important e-book will help inform future generations part of the story of how creative practitioners and arts organisations across Dumfries and Galloway responded to the global public health crisis. It by no means captures the full picture, but it does encapsulate the spirit and drive of creative practitioners, administrators, technicians, and volunteers responsible for helping make Dumfries and Galloway such a special place.

DGU's Biennial Conference
Every two years DGU delivers a major themed conference drawing in presenters and delegates from across the region and other parts of Scotland. The theme reflects what’s currently being raised and discussed by creative practitioners and arts organisations. In 2016 the theme was Connections and in 2018 it was Creative Routes which provided a forum for practitioners to share experiences and learning about what it takes to be a creative practitioner or worker in the creative industries.
The planned 2020 conference was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. We are planning to hold an in-person conference in 2022. Further details will be posted here in due course.
