£345m support for Borderlands

£345m of funding commitments have been announced for the Borderlands Growth Deal.

This proposed deal covers the council areas of Dumfries and Galloway, Scottish Borders, Northumberland, Cumbria and Carlisle City.

In his Spring Statement, Chancellor Philip Hammond unveiled a UK government commitment of £260m, adding to a previous Scottish government commitment of £85m over a 10-year period.
