Graduate Opportunity

Dumfries and Galloway Council are recruiting  a Graduate to work within their Arts and Museum service, to assist with the development and delivery of a new Cultural Strategy for Dumfries and Galloway.

This Graduate post is offered on a temporary basis for a period of 8 months, during which the successful will take ownership of tasks such as drawing up the engagement plan to inform the Cultural Strategy content, developing and delivering a robust communications plan for the strategy development process and providing hands on support for key initiatives including the Kirkcudbright Festival of Light.

The Peter Pan Moat Brae Trust are looking for an experienced Stage Manager to help coordinate and manage a community performance event as part of Moat Brae’s Dreams for the Future Festival near the end of 2018. 

This event will take place at Dumfries Academy on Saturday 24th November.  The Stage Manager will  be required to commit to two full days and be prepared to liaise with the community performance groups beforehand.

Craft Scotland and Springboard Events Ltd are offering 20 to 25 makers the opportunity to take a stand at The Craft Gallery.

The Craft Gallery at Scotland Scotland’s Trade Fair is a unique opportunity to present work to an audience of 4,500 trade buyers from department stores, mail-order retailers, online retailers, galleries, tourist attractions and independent retail outlets. Over 500 companies exhibit at Scotland’s Trade Fair Spring each year across a range of products including clothing, textiles, jewellery, fashion accessories etc.

Applications are invited from makers working in the following areas: Ceramics, glass, textiles, millinery, furniture, jewellery, metalwork, wood, paper, basket making, willow weaving, lighting and mosaic.

Applicants may use a range of production techniques and methods which include handmade, small batch production and digital technology.

The deadline is Monday 31 December 2018 at 17:00.

FANS Youth Film Festival

FANS Youth Film Festival is looking for youth-made short films up to 15 minutes long from Scottish based film makers up to 25 years old, covering all genres.

FANS Youth Film Festival will be held in Glasgow from 16th to 18th November. It will showcase the work of young film makers, at all levels from all areas and provide opportunities for young people interested in film to experience an exciting programme of short films, feature films, masterclasses, workshops and networking opportunities.

The deadline for submission is Sunday 16 September 2018 at 23:55.
