The Dumfries and Galloway Chamber of the Arts (DGU) are delighted to announce a commissioning opportunity in Dumfries and Galloway for the freelance role of Arts Development Director (ADD).
The contract is for 6 months from 1 October 2018 to 31 March 2019.
The fee for this role is £11,500, and DGU requires that the commission is delivered over 11 days per month over the 6-month period (dates to be negotiated) giving a daily rate of £175. The schedule for payment is subject to negotiation.
The role of the Arts Development Director is to provide clear leadership and direction to the DGU Team and act as the key ‘connector’ for Dumfries and Galloway’s new arts model, assisting DGU in carrying forward its strategic plan (Distil: DGU Strategic Plan 2017-21). This includes establishing DGU as a dynamic independent member-led movement with the structures and communications platforms to both hear, and be the voice of, its members and the wider creative sector in Dumfries and Galloway.
The work and outputs of the freelance commission will be overseen by the DG Unlimited Board of Trustees and the ADD will work in close liaison with Dumfries and Galloway Council’s Principal Officer, Arts and Museums.
If you are interested in applying for this opportunity, please contact Maureen Smyth for further particulars and an application form at: comms.dgu@gmail.com
Interviews will take place on 13 September in Dumfries.
Deadline for Applications: 5pm on Tuesday 11 September 2018
