A Call for Images
Dumfries and Galloway Council’s Cultural Strategy Project Team are seeking high quality images for inclusion in the published version of A Cultural Strategy for Dumfries and Galloway. Click HERE to see a copy of the strategy that the Council’s Communities Committee recently ratified (it’s Item 11).
DG Unlimited are supporting the Council to gather images that:
The intention is to feature a range of places and types of activity from across Dumfries and Galloway and we need YOUR HELP to achieve this.
It is likely that it will not be possible to feature all the images submitted in the published version of the strategy. However, with permission, images not used could be used in future communications as the strategy’s ambitions begin to be delivered.

DG Unlimited are supporting the Council to gather images that:
- Demonstrate the rich diversity of creative, cultural and heritage activity across our region
- Reflect the three strategic ambitions of the Strategy summarised as ‘Our People’, ‘Our Places’ and ‘The Difference we Make’
- Show people engaging with creativity, culture, and heritage

Images specification
- Format: images must be digital, and in high resolution jpg format of at least 300 dpi (dots per inch).
- Caption: please make sure that you send an identifying caption for each image telling us what/who it is
- Copyright: please make sure that you include all the relevant copyright details and/or photographer credit/s
Deadline
- Images you would like to be considered inclusion in the Strategy should be submitted by Monday 1st August
Permissions
- By sending your images you are agreeing that they can be used in the Strategy publication and/or to promote the region’s creativity, culture, and heritage in line with the Strategy
- Before we can use your image, we will require individuals or organisations to complete a Media Release Form, which we will send out to you once we receive your image.

Cultural Strategy Engagement Report
Dumfries and Galloway Council and its partners, including DG Unlimited are creating a Cultural Strategy for our region.
During the summer of 2019 Dumfries and Galloway Council carried out a survey and a series of focus group meetings for people working or volunteering in the region’s cultural sector. A number of discussion groups and one-to-one interviews were also held with stakeholders from a wide range of sectors, including: health, education, youth work, economic development, tackling poverty and inclusion.
