A Cultural Strategy for Dumfries and Galloway
Dumfries and Galloway Council and its partners, including DG Unlimited are creating a Cultural Strategy for our region.
During the summer of 2019 Dumfries and Galloway Council carried out a survey and a series of focus group meetings for people working or volunteering in the region’s cultural sector. A number of discussion groups and one-to-one interviews were also held with stakeholders from a wide range of sectors, including: health, education, youth work, economic development, tackling poverty and inclusion.
You can review the results of this engagement programme here along with a Cultural Strategy newsletter.
Dumfries and Galloway Council would like to thank everyone who took part in the engagement. The findings will be used to inform the strategy. It had been intended to publish the strategy by June 2020 but this has been delayed as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic. The cultural strategy project team will continue to develop the Strategy over the coming months.
In the meantime if you are looking for support and guidance to help you and your creative business deal with the effects of the pandemic, there are organisations in our area providing urgent support, signposting and advice. Here are links to some of these for your information:
