Innovate Create Cultivate
Creative Practitioners Professional Development Fund 2023/2024

THE INNOVATE CREATE CULTIVATE fund is now closed.
Thank you to all th eapplicants for your interest in this fund. News of the funded projects progress will be shared via our socials and on a forthcoming issue of FOCUS.

Innovate Create Cultivate is a simple way for established and emerging creative practitioners living and working in Dumfries and Galloway to apply for up to £750 to explore, develop and further their creative practice.

The purpose of Innovate Create Cultivate is to enable creative practitioners to:
  • Research and develop their practice.
  • Generate bold new ideas.
  • Test new ideas or creative direction.
  • Create new work(s) of high quality.
  • Enhance and/or learn new skills.
  • Inspire audiences and communities.
  • Contribute to the region’s economy.

Who can apply

We want to hear from emerging and established creative practitioners from any art form with the exception of visual arts and crafts*.

Applicants should evidence strong creative development, a continuous commitment to their practice and not be currently studying full time or part time for a qualification related to their creative practice.  An exception may be made if you can show that you have an emerging or established practice and the support you are asking for is not linked to your studies.

Applicants must live within the borders of Dumfries and Galloway, but we will consider applications that propose to reach out into other regions and countries.

Funds Available
There is a total of £7,000 available for 2023/24, with individual awards being made up to a maximum of £750 each. You can apply for up to 100% of the total cost of the project, although we may offer a different amount to that requested.

Deadlines
THE ICC FUND IS NOW CLOSED

Applications were assessed on a first come first served basis. All available funds have been allocated so this fund is now closed.

Previous Awards

Since 2017 we have supported 64 individual creative practitioners to further their professional development and practice through awards totalling £42,168.

Have a look at the table HERE to see the  diverse range of projects that have received awards.

In this short video poet, writer and photographer Peter Roberts shares some of his thoughts and reads a piece of work created during his residency at Cove Park where he worked on his poetry/prose project The Archipelago of Silences.
